Dear ZOS - I've been playing this game 4-5 years, I've given you guys a LOT of money, I've put a lot of time into this thing, and THIS is how you thank me? By suddenly making the game unplayable on my system? I was playing just as normal YESTERDAY - and now, overnight, with no public notice (barring a paragraph buried in the Patch Notes, which most of us don't read anyway) the last update changed the minimum system requirements, and now the game is completely unplayable on my system. Some of us can't upgrade, you know. Lots of us, I imagine, and for a lot of different reasons. Sierra and High Sierra break the software that I need to do my work and make my living. So, I can't upgrade just so I can play your damn game.
This is a complete betrayal of loyal players. I'm disgusted beyond words. I've been so supportive of you when others have pointed out your complete lack of loyalty to your own customers. Now I see they were right all along. Not to put too fine a point on it, this is. Well - thanks for giving back 90+ gigs of my hard drive space, not to mention giving me back days and days out of my life.
It's been a lot of fun. So long and thanks for all the fish. Quoted post has been removed. You might want to inform yourself before you post. Apple dropped support for OpenGL with their latest OS, which was/is the goto 3D rendering platform on the Mac since the mid '90s. ZOS panicked and jumped on the Metal band wagon when in fact OpenGL is still available since there already are several open source projects to bridge OpenGL to Vulkan to Metal.
So in short, ZOS upped their OS requirement to only support the very latest Mac OS and left everyone else sitting in a pile of rubble. Mind you, all that without.any. warning, just a nice added patch day bonus surprise. That's snip up by pretty much any standard i can think of.
Just as a reminder, ZOS did a similar thing with a Direct X version change a few years back. I don't recall mac users coming down on those windows users left out in the cold by that change. Regardless of why, it hurts when you can play one day and not the next. Not to mention the fact that even if it the new client works for you, it sucks - performing at 1/2 to 1/4 the FPS of the old OpenGL client.
And OpenGL does still work fine on the latest OS, even though it has been deprecated. This transition has been poorly handled by ZOS. There's really cheap Apus. Ryzen 2200 pretty good one, it's only 89-99 dollars, gpu and cpu is at one block.
So you probably can take HDD/SDD from you mac, maybe ram (not sure what type they have) motherboard for 50 dollars. You can use your old PC case coolers and even old PC case so for 150-250 dollars you can run around with medium settings at 60-70 fps. If you cant afford, maybe buy already build one PC with a monthly instalments, have you thought about that? If not quitting gaming would only benefit you, so dont be so hard on yourself. up by pretty much any standard i can think of. I don't keep up with Mac updates, because Mac has been and always will be inferior for gaming.

Windows machines are very vulnerable to hacks, viruses, malware, ransomware, etc. Why the hell would I buy a Windows machine in lieu of a system that works MUCH better than Windows.

How the hell do people get this stupid? I guess ESO is planning on all these new people showing up and filling in the lost Mac people with Windows users. I have 5 Macs and all of them run ESO on Mohave. I dont think they will be able to fill those slots, since ESO is not really that hot these days. Quoted post has been removed. But there isn't a Mac or Macbook out there that has the specs to stand toe-to-toe with a high-end gaming PC, and especially not at the same pricepoint. Hence why I don't and will never use a Mac. I was suggesting the cheaper option for OP, just as a suggestion since he can't upgrade his Mac.

Frankly I don't really care what you or OP do regarding your machines, as long as you don't try to pin their low specs on ZOS. Your machines are your business. P.S.: ESO is plenty hot, and it knows it. ESO doesn't need your approval to feel desirable or sexy.
