Quote: Steve - can I ask how the Filterbank EQ compares to the Channel G EQ. I'm facing the Filter/Compressorbank vs. Channel G dilema at the moment. I believe the eq code is very similar (which is a good thing).

I think I can hear a little more smoothness with Channel G, but they are very close. I prefer the layout of Channel G to any of the Filterbank models, but I would have a hard time living without the Filterbank F2. The compressor is really pretty different to CompressorBank, and again is very smooth sounding.
The overall vibe of Channel G is clean, smooth, and laid back. It is my favorite channel strip style plug-in and it really feels like a quality product. No audio-suite. From the McDSP Website: - Is Channel G basically the same as putting CompressorBank and FilterBank in the same plug-ins?
No, Channel G is a new set of algorithms from the ground up. Though they do have a subset of similar features, the majority are unique to Channel G. Conceptually, CompressorBank and FilterBank both model and create new paradigms for outboard gear. Channel G is that to console channel strips. This concept difference plays out in the arrangement and calibration of the controls as well as signal routing and sonic thumbprint. That’s right, born from similar algorithms, in this configuration they just sound different.
