Pros: Mailbird is single-handedly the best software that I have implemented in the last few years. I tried every desktop email client I could find and was extremely impressed with Mailbird right from the start. My goal in transitioning from Gmail in a browser to a desktop client was to be able to answer all of my emails while traveling and being disconnected from the internet. Now Gmail has an offline mode, but Mailbird still beats using Gmail in the browser because of all of its other features. I love having a shortcut ctrl-alt-space to start an email from anywhere on my computer.
Their shortcut keys allow for very fast email composing, reading, and managing. There are many software integrations so you can sync to all of your email accounts, calendars, chats, project management software, etc. My New Year's Resolution in 2016 was to get to Inbox Zero and stay there.
Mailbird helped me do this by organizing all of my email, making it easy to sort, and quickly reply. I am still at Inbox Zero 1.5 years later.
It does a great job organizing your contacts, handling attachments, and managing your folders. It even has a way to search only your attachments to find that document from months ago that you can't remember who sent.
Cons: I really don't have any cons in using Mailbird other than they don't have a mobile app. This isn't a huge problem as there are other apps for mobile, but it would be very helpful to have the same look and feel on a phone. Overall: Mailbird helped me reach and maintain Inbox Zero for 1.5 years and counting. I am now far more organized in my life by being able to handle my email as it comes in daily instead of letting it fall behind. Pros: The ability to pull in ANY email account that I have, from Yahoo, Outlook.com, Gmail, to any IMAP or POP email account. I have multiple email accounts and having them all in one interface is great. I can segregate them by clicking on each different email account icon, or I can view them all together in a single view, which I love.
In addition, I can color code the messages from each account so even in unified view, I can still quickly and easily tell which email account they were sent to. I also like that you can pull in popular apps right into the interface like Facebook, WhatsApp, Dropbox, Google calendar, Feedly and a ton others so you don't have to leave this app to get a quick glimpse of what's going on in those other apps. Also it's free so that's a big plus.
Cons: There's a lot of options and integrations which can seem a bit overwhelming to first-time users. And it can be tricky setting up non-standard (Yahoo/Gmail etc.) email accounts. But once you get it all set up and start using it, it's amazing! Overall: This software saves me many hours per week performing email management tasks. By pulling all my email into a single unified interface, I can process emails as soon as they come in and not get bogged down by email clutter.
Pros: It is a thing of beauty. Form meets function. It is much better than other Windows email apps, and I've tried a ton already (Thunderbird, Outlook, MS Mail.).
It kind of reminds me of Spark mail which I use with my Mac. Keyboard shortcuts is the same with Gmail (by default) which made it easy for me to transition from browser based gmail to Mailbird. The Snooze function is also one of my favorites.
It helps me achieve Zero-Inbox without worrying about the emails 'I don't need to attend to right now but need to be reminded of some other time.' Support team is very quick to respond and are indeed helpful. Even before I got my Mailbird Pro, they have been very responsive. Cons: For more advanced email enthusiasts, it might disappoint that it currently does not have the ability to set up filters, or messaging rules. (Maybe you can set this up with gmail beforehand?) The search can also be made more powerful. Right now it can't search and/or sort by date. Overall: Beauty will save the world.
My philosophy is that if it's not beautiful and functional, I/people will not use it. Mailbird is great in terms of aesthetics and email app functionality. It just looks great, easy to use, and works! Some advanced features (filtering, search) may be a bit wanting.
But for my daily use, it feels just like Gmail as it should be (on a beautiful platform). Pros: Mailbird is an excellent and easy email client with which you can manage your different email accounts and your email's there within simple and quick. Third party app integration gives one the possibility to enhance once productivity by social media connections (Whatsapp and Facebook) and to-do lists, Google Calendar, Contacts, Keep, Evernote, Dropbox. This way, you have a very handy application which by a simple system of settings can be displayed in different manners. The email writer is easy and contains all necessary features. Cons: There seems no pursue of the integration of more useful apps into mailbird but this might be in the development pipeline as well. A nicer automatic organizer of email groups (which groups all emails of one sender into one single group for easy management or tagging) would be very much appreciated.
Pros: Customer support is good. They are constantly making improvements. When I purchased, I had the option to buy it for life. The program easily manages all of my e-mail accounts.
The settings for the program and for individual accounts are extensive. My favorite feature would have to be how easy it is to setup accounts. Many programs (especially from Microsoft) require a person to know all of the right settings. You can certainly edit those in Mailbird, but often don't need to.
Cons: There are periodic glitches with updates. The latest was the inability to scroll through messages using the mouse wheel. These things often get fixed eventually, but they are usually simple things that I use regularly so it is a nuisance.
Many of the symbols are confusing. Not a big deal once you learn the product, but they aren't intuitive. Pros: If you like Microsoft Outlook but you use another email client like GMail then you'll love this. It provides you with the features that make Microsoft Outlook great and adds additional functionality on top of that. Highly customisable as well - one of the best email platforms I have used!
If you buy the Pro version as well it's really good value for money and you can buy a lifetime licence for a one off fee. Cons: It offers a free version but the free version has advertisements and less functionality than the pro version. Although to be fair, the functionality you get in the pro version isn't a big improvement and some might not find it worth the money. The main benefit in my opinion is getting rid of the advertisments. Overall: Very impressed with the software - great value for money with lots of useful and brilliant features. A good email client with features similar to Microsoft Outlook and that can support multiple email accounts. Pros: Search function - goes back through tens of thousands of emails quickly.
Cons: Numerous glitches/problems. Let me count the ways. Very hard to find the folders associated with each email account. Not intuitive. After writing an email and hitting send, nothing is sent much of the time. A deal breaker.
Can take over a minute to sync recent emails (I have a fast computer and a high speed internet service). Search function does not clear so when you reopen Mailbird you still have the same emails from the your old search showing.
You have to manually clear it. Display of emails makes it hard to access other emails in string it has aggregated.
Mailbird just started organizing emails by sender although I hadn't requested it. I now have to go back into the settings and correct. Miserable, horrible email client despite great reviews. Help staff is friendly, responsive and useless.
Overall: Unpleasant, time-wasting. Pros: The software is easy to use with a nice overal design. Additionally to the normal email functions it's easy to sort ans secedule emails. It also integrates many additional apps like todoist, google calender, whatsapp, facebook, contacts and more with which you can interact directly from the email program. Very useful in some occasions indeed. You can use the apps and the email view side by side what gives a great integration. A black theme (and more) is great for saving on light.
Regular updates. Cons: There is no mobile application what restricts its functionality strictly to the PC. The integration of new apps is slow. Overall: My organization of email conversations has been improved nicely. Pros: Easy to use. And that is about it, there really is nothing else to say, it is a mail client software. Gotta keep typing because they want 100 words or more.
Cons: Reliability, Customer Support, All the Lies, Time wasted. We have belived their constant stream of lies for almost 2 years, so much so that we have change servers 4 times. Believing their was a problem with the servers and NOT mailbird. So we invested in our own server and we still have connection problems, but Mailbird just wants to blame the server or the ip address or the anti-virus software. Sick to death of it.
And their response time is almost laughable if it weren't so serious. Overall: None just a lot of headaches. Pros: Frankly it isn't anything special, it does work to a point.
Cons: You can't control this program as easily as gmail,opera etc etc 1) When i went away with my laptop for work last week I discovered all the emails that should have been on it had disappeared even though i had ensured that they were all there before my departure, I use a normal computer in my office which is where the mailbird program was downloaded to. 2) When i start my computer in the morning mailbird takes a long time to load up. 3) When i want to update my mail if I am leaving the office mailbird only updates every 5 minutes when it wants to update. 4) mailbird doesn't have emoji's 5) Mailbird doesn't have a junk folder or a way of labelling a message as junk when it arrives a second time 6) Mailbird just doesn't feel as if it works for me it feels cumbersome and outdated Overall: They tell you that they will reply quickly they don't!
I asked for a refund the man at support said no problem that day then i didn't hear from him then he replied after being pressed that my 14 days was up, tough luck have a great day!! Does that really piss me off YES! Simply don't buy from this crap company. Pros: It's very easy to use, with a lot of features. You can integrate it with most of social media and other services to have everything in one place. Also, if you get the pro version you get unlimited accounts and even email snoozing, a feature that is so good that was recently added to gmail.
Cons: If you don't pay for the pro version you only get 1 account. Also, if you add your Social media accounts and other services supported, it gets very heavy after some time Overall: I use it as a secondary client for my personal email accounts and it serves me well. Pros: So many to list, I guess the most important are the Unified Account, the color coding of files, the link to Asana and Google, and the customer service. Cons: My ONLY con when dealing with Mailbird is the way folders are created. I'd like to be able to just right click on the folder area and add a fold instead of having to go through a process. I create a LOT of folder to stay organized in 5 different email accounts.
Overall: Managing multiple emails accounts from google and from go-daddy. Plus the link to outside accounts such as Asana and Google doc. Pros: It can integrate any email account - be it gmail, yahoo, outlook, or so on. Even it can pull IMAP or POP accounts. The icon feature is good way to keep track of navigating through different accounts.
Besides, one can color the mails to see in a unified view. You can merge with popular apps like Facebook, Google, Whatsapp, Calendar, Dropbox, and many more which is a big plus. Cons: One can find it overwhelming initially as you find lot of options while installing it for you very first account. But, as it is aimed to be for managing mails, you would deliberately fall in love with this. Overall: All my mails into a single mailbox.
Pros: Love the possibility to integrate the Apps I use most into this software. Being able to have Dropbox, Asana, Trello, Todoinst, Facebook and others in just one place is time-saving and I love it. Cons: Reception of 'standard' messages from customer support when submitting queries, that's off-putting. Also, the inability to categorize messages. I would like to be able to mark messages (colour codes, for example), putting them labels.
Overall: Easy configuration of accounts and settings. Nice Apps integration. Pros: Great integration with other products, clean look, and lots of customization. This is one of the best mail apps out there. Cons: I installed this app yesterday on a worklab computer and now today I received three marketing emails to my.gov email address trying to get my Entire team to upgrade for a reduced price. The only problem is that I just went back and checked, I did not use the.gov email to purchase Mailbird or correspond with Mailbird at any time. They had to have pulled it from my list of email addresses that I setup in the application.
That is a bit shady if you ask me. I will be uninstalling this app and asking for a refund. Pros: Everything you need is combined into one app.
It basically creates mini-web pages that you can quickly toggle to. You can integrate Slack, Google Drive, Google Docs. Google Calendar, Asana, Feedly, Trello, Todoist, Hangouts, Keep, Facebook, and Chrome, just to name a few. It works best with Gmail, but it can also handle Exchange.
Snooze emails - you know when you get an email that wants a response, but either now is not a good time, or maybe you need more information before you can answer, or perhaps you need to hear from someone else before you can respond back. Snooze will allow you to set a reminder to respond to that emails at a later time when you think you might have an answer. The price is good and they usually have good deals, especially if you act in the first few hours. Cons: It doesn't work (or at least I haven't really figure it out) with Exchange/Office 365 calendars. There are some things you can do in your O365 settings to create the calendar's URL, but it's only a one-way deal. You can't create calendars entries that sync back with O365. It would also be nice if Mailbird was available for Mac, iOS, Android, and especially ChromeOS.
Mailbird Free Vs Pro
Overall: Much cheaper than Outlook. Lifetime license. Better functionality than Outlook (e.g. Keyboard shortcuts, snoozing, integrations).
Pros: Support for 3+ accounts with an inexpensive one-time purchase of the pro version, lot's of integrated apps ranging from Google apps to Whatsapp and Dropbox. Responsive and helpful technical support. Cons: Adding organizational Exchange accounts seems to be hit or miss, worked seamlessly for some, didn't work at all for others (yet). Windows 10 notifications for mails don't seem to always take me to the desired email, I have to first open the client instead.
Overall: I love the integration of different apps within the mail client and it allowed me to ditch Outlook/Mail for Windows without regrets. Pros: - Mailbird supports multiple accounts and identities very well (including unified folders) - You can postpone emails easily - Basic email handling is particularly fast Cons: - Key emails are not identified smartly - Mailbird does not offer filters or other tools for automation such as suggested replies or folders for filing Overall: - Mailbird manages mail for multiple IMAP and POP email accounts. (The free version is limited to 3 accounts.) - If you have more than one account configured, Mailbird consolidates standard folders into unified inboxes, draft and sent folders, etc. (All accounts are still accessible individually.).

Very few parts of the program function that well Cons: I have the paid version so that I can have more than 2 email accounts. I have to say, it is extremely slow, the screen constantly resizes and freezes. It has no spam filters but worst of all, support is chronic. I have had an outstanding IMAP issue since soon after purchase and there is a resolution with their replacement program, but they refuse to issue it to me.
They ignore all request for updates and refuse to refund my money. Overall: Very poor. Pros: I love Mailbird! It revolutionized the way I do email, bringing better organization than what I had in Gmail. I also liked having a mini-browser on the right side of my widescreen for things like todo lists in web apps. Cons: Mailbird is only on PC for now, which means its organizational benefits only partially translate to mobile and to my mac at home.
Unfortunately, this proved a dealbreaker for me after many months of trying. Overall: Better mail organization, without being subject to Google's ads and interfaces.
