After more than a month reading forums, trying configurations and installing programs, I finally found this forum which has helped me a lot. So, I wish to thank Shanee and the rest of you for all this load of work and knowledge you have poured in here about OSX and AMD. I wanted to talk about my case here: I have an old ASUS M2A-VM HDMI Mainboard with 4GB RAM, an Athlon X2 6000+ processor and an nVidia 8400GS graphics card with 512MB, and I've been trying to install El Capitan for weeks without success until now.
I need El Capitan and not Yosemite as I need to install latest Xcode. So, after reading and applying all that's written in this forum, I've had a partial success and I want to explain a detailed guide of all that I've done until now. Software download I'll use these components:. OSX El Capitan Installer App downloaded from AppStore. I downloaded it using a Virtualbox Yosemite I had, and at first I thought it was downloading version 10.11.5. It resulted to be 10.11.3 indeed, I don't know why.
Kext Wizard. Shanee installation files. Code:. Download proxifier for mac. Installer creation Basically, I followed Shanee's instructions that can be viewed in the video tutorial at, followed by some particular settings I needed for my components.
I used a 8GB USB pendrive and these are the exact steps I followed:. Using my Virtualbox Yosemite, I used Disk Utility to format the USB drive using GPT and a single Mac OSX Extended (journaled) partition. Unzip Shanee's Files.zip, creating 'Files' folder. Inside it there's a file named 'Hidden files.txt' with the following command that I executed using Terminal app.
Code: killall Finder. Go to the ' OSX El Capitan Install' app, right click and select 'Show package contents'.
Navigate to the folder 'Contents/SharedSupport' and mount 'InstallESD.dmg' double clicking it. Copy all the contents of the mounted image in a temp folder used as working copy. Mount ' BaseSystem.dmg' that is inside the working copy and restore its first partition into the USB Drive's first partition, using Disk Utility. Once the copy is finished, we umount both images, and we add to the USB Drive the following content:. Copy 'AppleDiagnostics.chunklist', 'AppleDiagnostics.dmg', 'BaseSystem.dmg' and 'BaseSystem.chunklist' from our working copy to the USB Drive's root folder. Navigate to the folder '/System/Installation' in the USB Drive and remove the 'Packages' link.

Copy ' Packages' folder from our working copy to that folder in the USB Drive. Now we create a kernel. We navigate to the '/System/Library' folder in the USB Drive and create a folder name 'Kernels'. Inside it we copy the kernel we downloaded. Its name is 'kernel'. We delete the file 'AppleTyMCEDriver.kext' inside '/System/Library/Extensions' as is problematic with AMD. I think I also deleted pmtelemetry.kext.
We install Enoch rev.2795 (not another version and not another bootloader) that's in the 'Files' folder. We do a default installation using the USB Drive as target. Once the bootloader installation is done, we delete the 'Extra' folder that Enoch just created and we copy the 'Extra' folder that's in the 'Files' folder to the USB Drive's root. Optional step My mainboard has problems with USB and El Capitan (I know because this is not the first time I try).
The problems have the form of 'waiting for root device' during installation, or infinite loop trying to start USB devices, or being unable to use the USB mouse (and/or keyboard),etc. So I apply Shanee's USB-Fix v.3, consisting in:. Rename or move IOUSBHostFamily.kext extension in /Systm/Library/Extensions.

Install both IOUSBFamily.kext and AHCIPortInjector.kext to that folder using Kext Wizard. Repair permissions and rebuild cache using Kext Wizard too.
Copy SMBios.plst to Extra folder, renaming or moving previously the existing file. Optional step My mainboard has also problems with RTC, resetting the CMOS every time I restart OSX. So I also applied the patched AppleRTC.kext of Shanee using Kext Wizard. Finally, I make a backup of the USB Drive to an image using Carbon Copy Cloner or any other app, just in the case I must start over. Additional For the sake of easing the following tasks, I also prepare a folder name 'Post-Install' in the USB with the following content:.
USB-Fix files. Enoch installer. Network card drivers.
Patched AppleRTC.kext. Some other kexts I use later. Installing With the installer just created, I plug it into the target machine, configure the BIOS so that AHCI mode is activated and make sure that the USB Drive is first boot option. These are the attempts I did until I succeded:. Attempt #1.
I feel lucky. Let's try to boot without specifying any boot parameter. Result: black screen when installer gets into graphic mode. I know, it's because my graphics card does not work out of the box. Attempt #2. So, let's try the following boot parameter. Code:
I also specified these boot parameters. Code:
I press the select button but I can't get forward. Attempt #5.
I know the solution. Let's use this as boot parameter.
